According to Rabbi Levi in Megilah 10b we have a tradition that the ark (of the covenant) had no dimensions / was not measurable. In other words it didn't exist in space. Unsurprisingly I'm still trying to get my head round that. Either Raiders of the Lost Ark was lying to us, or there was some tardisy style shit going down.
